About the owners
Owner Darrin DeRosa
I am Darrin DeRosa and I have lived in Golden for ten years. In this time I have worked as a ski guide for Purcell Mountain Lodge and founded a non-profit charitable organization for economically disadvantaged youth. The youth program was based around a back-to-basics philosophy and gave students the opportunity to practice environmental stewardship and discover their true potential while participating in a 14 day wildernesss experience in the Canadian Rockies.
At the Cedar House I strive to exceed my guests expectations whether they be dining for the night or staying a week in one of my chalets. I pride myself on giving guests an unforgettable experience!
When not at the Cedar House, I enjoy mountain biking the trails around Golden in the summertime and skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort during the winter months. I am excited about the many changes taking place in Golden and I'm happy to share my knowledge about adventure opportunites, attractions and activities in the Golden area.

Sheppie Our Host
During your stay you may receive a visit from “Sheppie” our neighbors’ dog. He has a unique “smile” showing his teeth when he greets you. Don’t be alarmed! He is extremely friendly which is indicated by his wagging tail.
